Kate Murphy

LCSWA, MSW, CYT

I’m passionate about working with adults seeking to reimagine their lives, reconnect to their values, and deepen their sense of clarity, connection, and contentment. Many of my clients navigate life with chronic pain or illness. I particularly enjoy helping this population lead fuller lives with fewer physical symptoms by capitalizing on the mind-body connection in our work together.

I welcome you to reach out, whether a big life event is prompting reflection, a lull in life is feeling ripe with opportunity, or you’re just sick of things staying the way they are. My approach to therapy is a relational, holistic one, but is also practical. It encompasses and welcomes the whole person, and doesn’t leave any parts out. I’m here to meet you where you are and help you get to where you want to be. I’ve found we all generally want the same things… to feel safe, valued, connected to ourselves and others, and at peace.

What about me when I’m not wearing my therapist hat? Well… I might be outside gazing at a pretty leaf, or—even more likely—through either of my dogs’ unruly eyebrows and into their sweet, loving eyes. I may be going for a walk, accepting the reliable invitation of the fresh air to zoom out of one feeling or part of my life and reconnect to the whole (unless it’s July, then I’m definitely inside). I could be seeking out a fresh, flaky chocolate croissant and a cappuccino (decaf, if it’s afternoon). Chances are just as good that I’m stretched out on the couch like a cat, eyes up at the newest sitcom or Downtown Abbey-esque period piece, or down at my laptop planning my next trip abroad… a year in advance.
